ENGLAND'S EAST MIDLANDS IN EUROPE
Welcome to England's East Midlands European Office
The East Midlands European Office (EMEO) is a partnership office which aims to help the region get the most from EU membership, and to help the East Midlands fulfil its aim of becoming one of Europe's top 20 regions by 2010.
The role of the Brussels office is not only to promote partners' interests, but also to create opportunities, influence EU decision-makers and support the region's engagement in Europe.
EMEO's vision is to effectively represent the East Midlands in Brussels by:
- Raising the profile of the region
- Providing advance intelligence to partners.
- Enabling the region to draw full benefit from the
opportunities
offered by an enlarged EU.

The partnership includes:
- The region's City and County Councils
- Local Government East Midlands
- East Midlands Development Agency
- East Midlands Regional Assembly
- Government Office for the East Midlands

To achieve this, businesses and organisations have worked with the Regional Assembly to produce a Regional Strategy that addresses economic, environmental, social and spatial issues. This strategy provides the framework for how we will transform the East Midlands into a premier region in Europe."
